american cake, not so healthy now:(
without buying any cakes from simplylife bakery when i passed by festival walk, i entered the maxims there in the kowloon tong mtr station and grabbed some cakes.
i chose two american cheese cake and one earl grey mousse cake, which total is hk$48, each hk$16.
they did gave me a huge cake box but i immediately transfer those cakes to a glass container becuz i want to save that clean box for later use, while three cakes are really safe, the cakes were made ugly WHEN I TRANSFER skill-lessly.
i love baked cheese cake much more than freezing ones, becuz the bit crispy layer will be quite concentrate of cheese flavor, and this one looks quite OK.
cream(i tried LITTLE, extremely bad), strawberry, blueberry and white chocolate leaf was the topping, while berries were quite so fresh than what i’ve expected.
i actually bought these before when i was younger. it was cheese on biscuit, only half a strawberry on top, now it’s 2012 and this improved A LOT!!!:)
the cheese layer was good, smooth without the past experience’s cream cheese pieces, while egg flavor is coming out slowly and decently,
the biscuit is no longer butter biscuit, instead, they used real pastry which can hold the crispiness without absorbing the moisture from cheese, surprising bottom!!!
above the pastry bottom, it was a thin layer of yellowy sponge cake, which was very good too, not dry, just that it can be more eggy to bring the taste further:)
between cheese part and sponge part, they even added some blueberry jam, i would loved it fresh but it’s not, still good enough to make the contrast and lighten up the cheese cake.
i would say it was better than starbucks’ cheesecakes but if comparing to pacific coffee’s cheesecake, i still have to think and judge,
the bottom was real nice and better than PCC, but PCC’s jam is fresher and the cheese part was not so as fridge-so-long as this.
i guess the mainlander would quite like this cheesecake becuz their ones are much worse, i’ve tried in my grandma’s birthday dinner.
