simplylife bakery brownie and bread pudding
as i promised to write a review on simplylife, i HAVE TO do this, so sad.
i am so sleepy now.
the half portion brownie was hk$13 which’s actually quite expensive as the full portion is actually hk$25, oh one cheating bakery again.
no, i mean, it was absolutely super tasty, from my memory. i’ve bought the full portion last time, extremely tasty, so i went back for half a portion again.
but this time it was super different!!! i thought their baker did go away. they used the same recipe but the walnut was less oily,
the whole thing was smelling so good that the wrapping didn’t work on preventing the good smell leaking out, UM…SO GOOD:)
the brownie was actually a little sweeter than last time, while the most different part was actually, the texture.
the top was still crispy and yes, real having a top, and also a nice cake-y bottom, but the center was real melting.
that was not so good.
i loved brownie as what it is, but this’s absolutely not a brownie. i guess the baker put too much butter and so as the mixture turned too wet,
then he reduced the amount of egg to prevent the chocolate-y lowers. nice walnut amount and size, but i was really looking like eating a drink,
that was real liquid-y. yes that was that seriously melting, but taste was good. and the second thing i bought with it was a full portion of bread pudding hk$15,
with two portions of vanilla creme for the bread pudding. i finally end up with drinking all the creme without using them as a dressing, as the bread pudding was good enough by itself,
so i can be like having three desserts instead of only one. the creme was so smooth, bit too sweet, of course as that’s supposed to be just a dressing,
no vanilla seeds at all but still nice, the essence flavor is not too overwhelming:) so nice and vanilla-y.
i loved it better than custard actually. the bread pudding was made with their un-sold bread from their own bakery,
they sprinkled white sugar on top of the bread pudding, while the egg works SO WELL with the cream/milk for the pudding,
i believed the center part was real made with just the softer part of un-sold part, as it was really soft, instead being like the top layer.
between the crunchy top layer and the super moist center part, there was many other ingredients, which i loved very much and makes the bread pudding super suitable for a breakfast.
